Class of 2009
My name is Joyeeta Roy and I am from the class of 2009!
Since graduation, I’ve been studying in the School of Medicine in English in the Jagiellonian University Medical College right here in Krakow! It’s a really long course (6 years!), but I am almost a fully licensed M.D. and ready to move on to another exciting chapter in my life!
Aside from studying medicine, I spend any and all the free time I have, heavily involved in research activities. We work with infectious microbes like MRSA to come up with better antibiotics that can actually save hundreds of thousands of lives around the world. I am also involved in research projects in other fields like genetics, microbiology, immunology, cardiology and biostatistics! I go to lots of conferences and universities around the world to present our research and I have been lucky enough to win a couple of awards!
Studying medicine has been the best decision I have ever made! It is an incredibly interesting and diverse field with so many opportunities around the world. But it is also an enormous responsibility and a privilege to literally hold someone’s life in your hands, and I cannot wait!
After leaving BISC I moved to Canterbury and completed a degree in fine art. I am currently living in Surrey and am the kitchen manager at a local pub.
After leaving BISC I travelled in Asia for a year and then moved back to the UK. I am currently living in Surrey and work as a retail line manager. I am also expecting my first child and engaged to Jake.
After having graduated, I stayed in Krakow and joined the Jagiellonian University- Collegium Medicum.
I have always dreamt of becoming a Doctor and now I am working hard on
becoming one in the nearest future.
Outside of Uni, I do fundraising for local dog pounds, debate and draw..
Hi! I graduated BISC in 2009. It leads me to start my next education path on AGH, Mechatronics course. It was a good time. I found my best friends, starts my career and spend a lot of time with wonderful people. Currently I am a CAD designer and team leader in MONIT SHM company. I design non-destructive testing systems solutions and machine prototypes for customer specification. All these 5 years were wonderful. It will not be real without people who believed in me and give me a chance to move to Kraków. I would like to thank all BISC teachers: K.Pałasińska, K.Trofimiuk, F. Machadour-Tunstall, U.O’Donoghue, A.Żółkoś for their time, interest and passion they gave to me. Especially, I would like to give my thanks to Mr S.Kwieciński for his knowledge, valuable sugestions and support in my choice of introducing engineering field into my life. Thank you all!
